About

Professional deckmaker Burt Tunstall launched Five Luck officially in 2015.  In stark contrast to today's current fingerboard "community", Burt honed hundreds of boards before ever considering selling one.  (His intentions were never to sell any at all, but life forced his hand and he was made to rely on his work as his only source of income.)

This led to the development and subsequent machining of the Five Luck molds which have a reputation of being some of the best ever designed.  This practice period also led to the formulation of his infamous wood dyes which are virtually unparalleled in brightness and saturation.

Since 2017, Burt has been living in a remote area of North Central Canada and maintains an insane level of quality throughout some of the harshest climate conditions in the world. In fact, for a period between 2018 and 2019 he was forced to become the planets only off-grid deckmaker when electrical service was irreparably disrupted to his 300sq/ft cabin.

The Five Luck craftsmanship and quality continue to speak for themselves.  Burt continues to defy normal standards by maintaining his position as a fingerboarder/deckmaker and not as a 'company'.  He believes this difference is tangible in every deck he creates, as do the vast majority of the people who rely on his shapes to shred their best every day around the globe.

The Five Luck story is unlike any other in the fingerboard scene.  When you support Five Luck you are supporting one of the nicest, most honest guys in the scene and helping make a direct difference in his quality of life.  In a seemingly endless sea of new "companies", there is only one Five Luck.
